Okta Verify FastPass Registration (USG Other Government Agency Users)

Ronald Brandon -

Effective September 15, the Department of State will retire password-based Okta sign-in for USG Other Government Agency (OGA) users. Going forward, U.S. government users not affiliated with the Department of State must sign in using either a CAC/PIV card or Okta Verify FastPass for single sign-on access to DATIM, FACTS Info, and other Okta-connected applications.

For OGA users who lack a CAC/PIV card, Okta Verify FastPass will become your new default sign-on method to access Department of State GHSD Applications.  This guide provides enrollment steps for Okta Verify FastPass.  If you currently use password sign in for Okta, you must install the Okta Verify Application on each device you will use to access a GHSD Application.  This means you will need to install Okta Verify FastPass on your primary work computer.

Note: If you use a CAC/PIV to access Okta, then you do not need to register for Okta Verify FastPass.  You can, however, use these steps to register for FastPass if you would like a back-up sign-in option.

Using Okta Verify FastPass on Your Phone

Confirm If You Already Have FastPass

If you use a personal or work phone to access GHSD applications, you will need to ensure that your Okta Verify app is configured for FastPass.

If you have an Android device, you can download the Okta Verify app from the Google Play Store here.  If you have iOS device, download Okta Verify from the App Store at this link.

If you recently installed or re-installed your Okta Verify app, it is possible you may already have FastPass enabled.  To confirm if Okta FastPass is configured on your phone, open the Okta Verify app.  If the six-digit code is obscured, then you are already enrolled and no action is needed.  If you do see the six digit numerical code, then you must proceed to the following steps to enroll in FastPass.
